Desperate to help her sister’s family, Lila courts a cold-hearted investor for her handmade toys, but learns Christmas has a way of bringing surprises where they’re least expected.
The story begins when Lila gets a chance to promote her toys in a high-end store owned by—guess who?—the novel’s hero, of course. Their first meeting is kind of a mix-up, as he is a hands-on guy wearing scruffy jeans and working in the basement of the store and she thinks he is the janitor. So begins the fun—and romance.
